SSLC Student’s Father Tests Positive for COVID-19 Creates Panic among other Students in Udupi
Udupi: As the SSLC board exams are underway in the district from June 25, A father of an SSLC student testing positive for the coronavirus in the district has created panic in Padubidri on Saturday, June 27.
According to sources, the student had appeared for the SSLC exams with other students. The student and others had strictly followed the COVID-19 guidelines and all other rules during the exams. On June 27, the student’s father was tested positive for COVID-19 and shifted to the designated COVID hospital for the treatment.
The student’s swab has also been collected and sent for test. The report is expected by Sunday.
The board has arranged separate seating at all exam centres for students who have tested positive, have cold, cough and other symptoms and also for students from the containment zones.
The exams were earlier scheduled from March 27 to April 9 but were put off as the lockdown was extended thrice up to May 31.
Since a 2-metre distance has to be maintained between two students, more exam centres have been set up to comply with the guidelines.
Every exam centre has also been equipped with sanitizer dispensers to wash hands before and after the exams.
