St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrates 73rd Independence Day

Mangaluru : St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm on Thursday the 15th August. Colonel Firdosh P Debash Director Of Army Recruiting Office, Mangaluru was the Chief Guest of the day. The Chief Guest was accompanied by the Principal Fr Melwyn Lobo SJ and Vice principal Ms Jacintha DCosta to
unfurl the national flag.

While addressing the students, the Chief Guest advised the students to make best use of school days to develop as good citizens. He also gave a call to join the Indian Army to serve the nation and make it an example for excellence in the world. The Principal in his speech appreciated the efforts of students who participated in the socio-art exhibition and told them to grab the opportunity and flourish as smart and competent persons. He also advised the students to value and be ever grateful for the sacrifice of people who have contributed for the development of our country and not to forget to recognize, appreciate
and celebrate the diversity of our country. Winners of various competitions conducted in connection with the Independence Day were felicitated by the dignitaries.

On this occasion , a socio-art exhibition was also orgainized which was inaugurated by the Chief guest , Principal and Vice-principal by painting tri- colours on the canvas in the presence of the Exhibition coordinators. Students of Class V to X exhibited different models on globe, eclipse, relief features, water harvesting, Dams, MRPL, Global warming, Smart city, monuments such as Qutab Minar, Pyramids etc. They also displayed their creativity and talent in colouring, painting and making of different crafts.

The programme was compered by Sweedal Bonita of class X and Ayesha Alila of class IX. Ms Arunima welcomed the gathering. Swasthik of class VIII highlighted the significance of the day. Hanya of class V expressed the gratitude for the efforts and contribution of every individual. The programme concluded with the school anthem. Thereafter the dignitaries, students and parents viewed the exhibition.
