St Joseph Vaz Church, Mudipu hosts ‘Sunday Catechism Day’
Mudipu/Mangaluru: The whole year’s Sunday Catechism culminated on March 3, 2018 with the celebration of Catechism Day. The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist at 7.30 am. Rev. Fr Benjamin Pinto, the Parish priest was the main celebrant and Rev. Fr Shaun Rodrigues, Assistant parish priest delivered the homily on the importance of catechism as well the responsibility of the parents in faith formation of their children. The day’s liturgy was conducted by the children of various classes. Children’s choir helped everyone to participate actively in the Eucharistic celebration. After the Eucharistic celebration, there was prize distribution ceremony. Children who were regular, who had done well in bible quiz and Sunday catechism exam were honoured.
On behalf of students Ashwin D’Souza, II PUC and from the part of teachers Ms Laila D’Souza verbalized their experience regarding their participation in Sunday Catechism. Fr Benjamin Pinto, in his presidential speech thanked the students, teachers and parents for taking keen interest in Sunday Catechism. Fr Felix Norohna, Roshan D’Souza, the Vice-President; Marcel D’Souza, the Secretary; Ms Agnes D’Souza, the Co-ordinator, were present on the dais. Veekshitha D’Souza, compered the programme.
