St. Theresa Church, Paldane, Hosts ‘A Day in Nature’ Outing in Honnavar

Mangaluru: The Parish Pastoral Council of St. Theresa Church, Paldane, Mangaluru, in collaboration with the church’s Catechism teachers, recently organized a nature-focused excursion entitled “A Day in Nature.” The event saw participants visiting the grounds of the Holy Cross Brothers Institution, situated on the banks of the Sharavathi River in Honnavar, to immerse themselves in the region’s natural beauty.

The outing was formally inaugurated with a prayer led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho. In his address to the attendees, Fr. Coelho emphasized the profound significance of the natural world, stating, “Nature is a gift from God to humankind, an integral and inseparable element of human existence in our daily lives. This initiative undertaken by the Parish Council will undoubtedly foster a stronger sense of unity and harmony amongst its members, thereby enhancing their collective service to the community in the future.”

Several key figures in the St. Theresa Church community attended the event. Among those present were Deacon Rovin Lopez, Parish Council Vice President Elias Fernandes, Parish Council Secretary Austin Monteiro, Catechism Teachers’ Coordinator Lizzy Fernandes, and Spiritual Committee Coordinator Priscilla (Pressie) Fernandes. Ward leaders and representatives, presidents of various church associations, and members of religious orders also participated in the day’s activities.
