Chakravarthy Sulibele and Pramod Muthalik should be barred from entering the Udupi district. Dalit leaders have submitted a memorandum to the district superintendent of police to initiate action for violating the DC’s order during the Kanaka Nade programme.

The district administration has not issued any permission to the organizers. The venue of the programme was the Rajangana but without heeding the orders they went and garlanded the statue of Kanaka and then launched a cleanliness drive in the parking area. The district administration had not permitted the organizers to launch the cleanliness drive.

The inauguration of Kanaka Nade was done by the Pejawar Swamiji which has saddened us. He has promoted untouchability by supporting the event. The SP had denied us permission to garland the statue of Kanaka and we have obeyed his orders.

Sulibele should be booked with SC/ST Atrocities Act, the Pejawar Swamiji should first solve internal issues in the Sri Krishna Math and then interfere in other issues. The 3 persons among the municipal workers who were felicitated look like child labourers, the police department should probe into this matter.

Receiving the memorandum, District Superintendent of Police KT Balakrishna said that the programme has been recorded in 17 cameras, a report will be submitted to the deputy commissioner for further action.
