New Delhi, Nov 12 (IANS) The viscera report of Sunanda Pushkar, the wife of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor who was found dead in a Delhi hotel under mysterious circumstances, would be submitted in court in 4-5 days, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi said on Thursday.

The police chief said that as soon as they receive the detailed viscera report on Pushkar from the FBI forensic lab, it would be submitted in court.

“No report has been sent to me yet, when it is, I will share details,” Bassi told reporters.

Bassi, however, said that Delhi Police received the FBI’s forensic report by email a few days ago.

“A detailed report is still awaited. Once we get the full report, the medical board would examine it and we will later submit it to the competent court,” he said.

Bassi said the radiation levels in Pushkar’s viscera samples were within the prescribed safety norms.

Sources in Delhi Police said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case would approach the court after a medical board gives its opinion on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) anaylsis report.

Reacting to the development, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) forensic department head Sudhir Gupta said some poisons cannot be detected even though they cause death.

Pushkar’s viscera samples were sent to the US after AIIMS doctors said Indian laboratories lacked the facility to identify the poison suspected to have caused her death.

Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel in Delhi on January 17, 2014. Police registered a murder case on January 1, 2015.
