Synergia’ 25, a national-level 3 day mega event held at Sahyadri Campus
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangalore is thrilled to announce Synergia’ 25, a national-level event powered SHINE Foundation. This flagship initiative is a multi-layered innovation platform dedicated to unifying students from Grade 8 to 12 up to Engineering.
Day One (6th Nov, 2025): The grand inauguration of Synergia’25 witnessed the gracious presence of several esteemed dignitaries -Ms. Tina Bodin, Chief Guest and Head of HR at EG A/S; Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal; Mr. Jagannath Chowta and Mr.DevadasHegde, Trustees of the Institution; Dr.SudheerShetty, Vice Principal; Dr. Shamanth Rai, Dean of Academics; Dr.PrashanthaRao, Dean of Student Welfare; Mr.PrakyathRai, Lead Data Scientist and Team Manager – AI COE, EG India and Ms.Jeevitha J.S., Chief Event Coordinator of Synergia. The event also welcomed Mr.JeevanDsouza, Country HR Head, EG/DK India, along with other representatives from EG/DK. Their arrival was marked by the rhythmic beats of the traditional Chende, filling the atmosphere with energy and celebration, symbolizing the vibrant spirit of Synergia 2025. Students from over 300 institutions registered for various events and workshops.

Chief Guest, Ms.Bodin, expressed admiration for the innovative spirit of young Indian minds and applauded their contributions to global technology and innovation. She shared that Mangalore holds a special place for EG A/S and acknowledged that the organization has previously recruited students from Sahyadri.
The Principal, Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, in his address, described Synergia as a vibrant platform for students to showcase their talents and creativity. The ceremony concluded with Mr. Jagannath Chowta, Trustee, honouring the guests with tokens of appreciation. Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms.Jeevitha J. S., Chief Event Coordinator of Synergia.
Then, an inspiring and interactive session was conducted by Mr. Johnson Tellis, CEO to motivate students to explore innovation and the joy of science. He shared his journey of experimentation and invention, explaining how his passion for projects began at a young age.
Dr.PruthvirajUmesh, Associate Professor at NITK Surathkal, delivered an insightful session on leveraging trans disciplinary research and innovation to address social and environmental challenges, emphasizing the integration of engineering and Artificial Intelligence for sustainable, open-source solutions.
Mr. Raghu Anand, Lead Technical Instructor at EG A/S, presented the Devtalk session, “Agent Collaboration: A Dive into Google’s A2A Protocol,” exploring the emerging Agentic Internet and the growing collaboration among AI agents (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHubCopilot).
Team Challengers conducted an engaging educational workshop on Aerodynamics and Aircraft for SSTH students, beginning with the history of flight, from gliders to advanced jets and drones. Speakers Ranjith, Amogh, and Sanjana shared their insights, inspiring interest in aviation technology.
DEVHOST 2025, presented by EGDK, was an electrifying 36-hour hackathon titled DEVHACK 2025. The day began with a Pre-Hackathon Talk, setting the perfect tone for the intense coding marathon ahead. A total of 30 teams participated, each bringing their creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving spirit to the forefront.
Day Two (7th Nov, 2025): The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Mega-Clash Tournament had matches held across the designated CAD and CMI Labs. A confirmed total of 48 professional teams participated in the event’s inaugural phase, engaging in direct, intense competition for victory.
The prestigious Valorant ‘Fire Ball’ Collegiate Tournament had a field of ten elite teams engaged in the inaugural rounds. The Aero Modelling event saw enthusiastic participation with a total of 19 teams registering for the competition. The event consisted of three qualification rounds designed to test the skill, creativity, and precision of each team. Next was the Rubik’s Cube event which was a walking registration individual event where each participant was given 15 seconds of time. Then, the Robo Soccer Tournament concluded with resounding success, uniting 24 highly innovative teams in a thrilling, high-energy display of technology and competitive spirit. The Chess event had 22 participants and was played as a 2v2 game with a unique twist. The ROOT QUEST Capture The Flag (CTF) was an exciting cybersecurity challenge with 37 teams competing in areas like Web Crash, Server Handling, and other technical tasks.
The Drone Race event featured a total of 5 teams. The Water Rocket event was an exciting competition that featured a total of ten teams. The Master Class 02, led by instructors Charis Pinto and SamwinStev Pereira, delivered a definitive message: the future of digital development belongs to the AI agent orchestrator, the AI hustler, rather than the traditional coder.
Several events were held including a DevTalk on “Building in Open Source: Collaborate, Contribute, Create” delivered by AakanshaDoshi, Core Maintainer and Contributor at Project Excalidraw, as part of DevHost 2025. Another DevTalk on “Cloud Security: Protection, Detection, and Response” was conducted by N. AnanthakrishnanPotti from OLA, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of cloud defense mechanisms.
The Sahyadri Open-Source Community (SOSC) organized “How I Met My Investor”, a tech-based idea pitching event held under DevHost – Synergia 2025. Mr. Manoj S and Mr.AshishRai are the panel judges. A total of 12 teams participatedTeam Navigo (Hisha, Abhisha, and Shreya) secured first place, while Team Parakaram (AdhishPadmanabhaAcharya, Vijeth Kumar, PranavaPai N, and U VivekShenoy) earned the second place.
“Oh my Grid – UI Battle”, a Halloween-themed front-end design competition, the event recognized Sion Aaron Lobo and VinishMachad as the first-place winners, followed by Ananya G. Devadiga and Vrinda J. Devadiga in second place.
“O(n)slaught”, a flagship competitive programming unique event saw 22 participants (13 teams) competing for a ₹10,000 prize pool. After a thrilling two-hour contest, Abdul Shaz from Sahyadri secured first place, followed by ReevanD’Mello and Sweedal Lewis from St. Joseph Engineering and Management in second.
Day Three (8th Nov, 2025): A Sky Full of Innovation – The AerophiliaAirshow!
The Sahyadri skies roared to life as AbhayPawar and his team, in collaboration with Team Challengers and several aeromodelling enthusiasts, presented a breath-taking AerophiliaAirshow. Dr.Vijaya Kumar B P, M.Tech (IITR), Ph.D. (IISc), SMIEEE, Fellow IETE, Professor & Head, Dept. of AI & DS, M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, IEEE CIS Chair, Bangalore Section was the guest of the event. This event featured an impressive line-up of drones, quadcopters, and model aircrafts performing stunt flights, obstacle navigation, synchronized formations, and precision landings. The spectacular display showcased not just engineering precision, but also the creativity and passion of young aeronautical minds.
The Hovercraft Challenge event was one of the most thrilling highlights of the fest, showcasing creativity, engineering precision, and teamwork. Participants from Bengaluru, Chennai, and various regional colleges brought their innovative designs to life, competing with impressive enthusiasm and technical skill.
The Sahyadri Robotics Club (SRC), then hosted Robo Sumo. Twelve enthusiastic teams battled it out in the ring, showcasing their innovation, engineering prowess, and competitive spirit. The air was charged with excitement as robots clashed head-to-head, each designed to push the limits of creativity and control. As part of the final day of Synergia ’25, the Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt (SSTH) witnessed an inspiring Project Evaluation session, where innovative models built by students were assessed by an expert panel. Hundreds of talented school and pre-university students presented their creative science and technology projects, showcasing analytical thinking, problem-solving, and research-driven innovation.
The 3rd day of SynergiaDevHost 2025 began with the conclusion of DevHack, a 36-hour hackathon that saw participants wrapped up an intense night of coding by 5:45 a.m. and prepared to showcase their innovative ideas in the final round of judging. The panel of judges Mr. Raghu Anand, Mr.SurajNagraj, and Mr.SuhasRao evaluated the teams.
Later, a captivating panel discussion on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Creativity’ was held as part of SSTH, led by Prof. Samarth Shenoy from the Department of Business Administration, who skilfully guided the discussion with his insightful moderation and engaging questions. The distinguished panellists included Dr. Vilas T. Rathod, Senior Scientist/Manager, ISRO ISTRAC; Dr.Niranjan U. C, Adjunct Professor, Sahyadri; Dr.Vijaya Kumar B. P, Professor & Head, AI and Data Science Dept., M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology; Mr.KiranNayak, Managing Partner, Fastbit Embedded Technologies and Mr. Mahesh Nayak U, Co-founder, Tiny Prism Labs Pvt. Ltd.
The Valedictory Ceremony marked a fitting finale to the three-day journey of learning and innovation. The event featured inspiring addresses by Dr.ShamanthRai, Dean-Academics; Dr.SudheerShetty, Vice-Principal and distinguished guests Mr. Allan Bech, CTO, EG A/S; Mr.AnandFernandes CEO, EG India; Sri. Vilas T. Rathod, Senior Scientist/Manager, ISRO Telemetry, Tracking & Command Network (ISTRAC–ISRO), Bengaluru and Dr.Vijaya Kumar B P, Professor & Head, Dept. of AI & DS, M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Prizes were distributed and participants shared their reflections. The event came to a close with heartfelt remarks from the Principal Dr. S. S. Injaganeri.
