Teachers’ Day and Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated at Harihar at Aloyisus College

 “A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity knowledge and Wisdom”

Students of St Aloysius college Harihar expressed their gratitude and appreciation to their teachers on 5th of September. Teachers day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan second president of India. Students began the programme at 2’o clock. The whole function was planned by the students. Students performed a scintillating cultural show to denote their love, respect, acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards their development. The formal programme began with NCC escorting the staffs towards the stage which was followed by watering the plant.

The master of the ceremony Sneha and Macton invited two students to speak about Teachers day. Father Pradeep Sequeira spoke about his experience as a student and also about his teachers. With this they came to an end to formal function. The stage was then opened for an informal programme. Master of the ceremony Tejaswini began the programme by wishing all the teacher’s a happy teacher’s day. Dance is form of art and students of 1st PUC Arts performed a wonderful dance. B. Com students mesmerized the gathering by an energetic dance performance.

The dance was followed by games session for teachers. Shashank from third B. Com conducted the game first he called upon all the gent’s staff to come on to stage. The task was to dance on one Leg and the music was played. All the staffs enjoyed the task and Ravi Sir and Jason Sir won the task.

Students of 1st PUC commerce came up with a beautiful skit dance which brought a wide smile on the faces of all staffs. Next was an energetic dance performance by the students of 1st PUC. Students of third B.Com came up with the next task for the lady staffs. The game session was followed by distributing the mementos to all the staffs. Father Eric Mathias SJ Principal and superior of Degree college and Father Pradeep Sequeira finance officer of St Aloysius College distributed the mementos.

Dance isn’t dance it is magic; students of PUC enchanted the audience with their beautiful performance. With this Tejaswini concluded the programme by thanking all the staffs from the bottom of her heart.

Ganesha Chaturthi Celebration :

On the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi,St Aloysius College Harihar celebrated this day on 4 September,2019 at 3.30 PM in the college quadrangle. Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi is a festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha.The festival is marked with the immersing of Ganesha Idols privately in homes, or publicly .The festival celebrates Lord Ganesha as the God of new beginnings of the Remover of obstacles and is observed throughout India.

The chief guest for the day was Sri Sri Sri Sharadheshananda,,Ramakrishna Ashrama,Harihar ,Rev Fr Eric Mathias Sj,Principal St Aloysius College ,Harihar,Fr Pradeep Sequiera SJ,Finance Officer ,Fr Cyril Raj SJ,Vice Principal Degree,Mrs Pushpalatha,Vice- Prinicpal, Discipline and Mr Sunny Gudinho,Vice Principal,Academic and the staff coordinator ,Ms Shimmi Raj.

The programme began with a bhajan invoking Lord Ganesha’s blessings by Pallavi And team ,followed by an inspirational talk by Swamiji.He spoke on the parts of Lord Ganesha and how they represent each element and virtue in nature.Fr Eric spoke about brotherhood and the meaning of equality and togetherness in celebrating this festival as one Aloysian family. Cultural programme followed the formal programme. Dance representing the goodness of Lord Ganesha
was performed. Sweets were distributed to all students and staff. Ms Rashmi compered the programme
