Teen Singer Rishal Melba Crasta Scores Rare Hat-Trick in Konkani Singing Contest

Mangaluru: In a remarkable achievement that has brought pride to the Konkani-speaking community, 18-year-old Rishal Melba Crasta of Kulshekar has secured first place in the 15–45 age category of the Konkani singing competition organised by the Mangaluru Konkani Natak Sabha (Regd.) for three consecutive years—2024, 2025, and 2026.) for three consecutive years — 2024, 2025, and 2026.

With this achievement, the young singer has completed a rare hat-trick, establishing herself as a promising emerging voice in the Konkani music scene. Adding to her success, Rishal also secured first place in the 15–45 age category of the duet singing competition, highlighting her versatility as a performer.

Rishal’s consistent victories reflect not only her vocal talent but also her discipline, dedication, and deep commitment to Konkani music. Winning the same prestigious category for three successive years is a rare accomplishment and a testament to her hard work, confidence, stage presence, and passion for singing.

Her success has brought immense joy and pride to her parents, family members, friends, well-wishers, and the people of Kulshekar. Speaking after her achievement, Rishal said that securing first place consecutively in 2024, 2025 and 2026 was a moment of immense pride and happiness. She thanked everyone who supported her and credited God’s grace for her success.

“By God’s grace and blessings, along with the love, support and encouragement of everyone around me, I have been able to reach this stage,” she said.

Describing her mother as her greatest pillar of strength, Rishal said her mother had stood by her during every performance and given her the confidence to move forward.

“I extend my special thanks to my mother, who has stood by me during every performance, encouraged me, and given me the strength and confidence to move forward,” she said.

Rishal also spoke emotionally about her father, whom she credited as the guiding force behind her musical journey.

“My father is my coach, mentor, and the person who introduced me to music. I can never thank him enough for teaching me, guiding me, and supporting me throughout my journey as a singer. Whatever I have achieved today is the result of his hard work and guidance. I will always remain grateful to him,” she said.

She said her achievement was made possible by God’s blessings and the prayers, love, and encouragement of her parents, family members, friends, and everyone who had supported her journey.

Rishal’s hat-trick is being hailed as a proud moment for the Konkani community. Her success highlights the importance of nurturing young talent and creating opportunities for budding singers to showcase their abilities while contributing to the preservation and promotion of the Konkani language through artistic expression.

Her performances in both the solo and duet categories demonstrate her vocal strength, versatility, and ability to connect with audiences. Her dedication, humility, and determination to continually improve have also contributed to her steady growth as a singer.

Looking ahead, Rishal said she dreams of participating in popular music reality shows such as Indian Idol and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. She also hopes to perform at musical events abroad.

 

“My next ambition is to participate in popular music reality shows such as Indian Idol and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Many people have encouraged me to take part in these programmes. It is also my dream to perform at musical events abroad. To make these dreams come true, I need your support, blessings, encouragement and best wishes,” she said.

Born on April 16, 2008, to Rony Crasta and Metilda Crasta of Kulshekar, Rishal developed a keen interest in music during her childhood. She has since nurtured her talent through regular practice, training, and participation in singing competitions.

With her outstanding achievements, Rishal Melba Crasta has already carved a special place for herself among emerging Konkani singers. Her hat-trick victory marks a significant milestone in her musical journey, and music lovers will undoubtedly be looking forward to many more accomplishments from the talented young artist.
