Tempo–Bike Collision Claims Life of Rider in Athradi
Manipal: A tragic road accident involving a tempo and a motorcycle claimed the life of a rider on the morning of March 23, near Kabyadi Arman Ratt Factory in Athradi.
The deceased has been identified as Bhaskara Nayak (70), a resident of Herga village.
According to reports, a 407 tempo travelling from Athradi towards Moodubelle collided head-on with an oncoming motorcycle. The impact threw both the rider and pillion onto the road.
Bhaskara Nayak sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. The pillion rider suffered grievous injuries, including a severe leg injury that reportedly led to amputation, and is said to be in critical condition.
Police visited the scene and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
