Ten Sisters of Charity of Mluru Province Celebrated Golden Jubilee of Religious Life

 Mangaluru : The Sisters of Charity of Mangalore Province hosted the golden jubilee celebration of 10 Sisters: Sr. Adeline D’Souza, Sr. Albertine Mascarenhas, Sr. Gulabi Lobo, Sr.Helen D’Sa, Sr. Irene D’Silva, Sr. Jaqueline D’Souza, Sr. Josephine Silva, Sr. Mirella Pinto, Sr. Neeta Castelino and Sr. Prema Xavier K. The august assembly gathered for the solemn Eucharistic celebration to thank the Almighty for the inestimable gift of their lives and precious religious vocation which was indeed a journey of fidelity.

The chief celebrant, Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza – Bishop Emeritus of Mangalore diocese began the solemn celebration of the Eucharist with a note of appreciation to the Jubilarians for their life of commitment through which they added to the life and holiness
of the Church. Recounting the blessings of God over the past 50 years, he stated, “It is a fitting moment to acknowledge their generous contribution, selfless sacrifices, inspiring life and profound faith which made them instruments of God’s unconditional mercy and love to
thousands …”

After the Eucharistic celebration they marched towards the beautifully decked hall to the rhythm of joyful music and cheer. Sr. Matilda Monteiro – Provincial Superior, in her message exhorted the Jubilarians to continue their fervour in serving the Lord in His people. While Sr Maria Flora D’Souza familiarized to all, the life, call and mission of each one. Sr. Irene D’Silva responded on behalf of the jubilarians their gratitude. Sr Dhanya Devasia compered the programme.

The cutting of the Jubilee cake, the angelic choir, felicitation programme and sumptuous meal made the day a meaningful and memorable one.
