Testament of India’s firm resolve, committed to secure terror‑free J&K: L-G lauds country’s armed forces on ‘Op Sindoor’ anniversary
Srinagar: On the anniversary of Operation Sindoor on Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha lauded the valour of the armed forces.
An official statement said that L-G Sinha has hailed the valour of Armed Forces on the anniversary of Operation Sindoor.
The Lieutenant Governor said: “As we mark the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, we bow in reverence to the men and women in uniform whose unwavering resolve and extraordinary courage, delivered a fitting response to the enemy who targeted innocent civilians at Pahalgam.”
“Operation Sindoor is a declaration etched in resolve that our brave armed forces are committed to protect country’s sovereignty and integrity at any cost. It is testament of India’s firm resolve and we are committed to dismantling the terror network and securing a terror‑free Jammu and Kashmir.”
After Pakistan backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists killed 26 innocent civilians, including 25 tourists and a local pony owner, in Baisaran meadow of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, 2025.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a free hand to the armed forces of the country to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack.
Indian armed forces carried out strikes at terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan at Muridke near Lahore, Bahawalpur and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Pakistan escalated tension by attacking military and civilian facilities across the Line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Fourteen civilians, including a senior civil servant were killed in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir in cross border shelling by Pakistan, while a mosque, a temple, a gurdwara and a church were also destroyed in Pakistan shelling.
India responded by carrying out strikes at Pakistan’s defence installations damaging 18 such siters.
India also threw the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 into abeyance and blocked water flowing to Pakistan from rivers seeded to them as per the treaty.
Operation Sindoor has not been called off as it is has been halted for the present.
