Theft of Expensive Motorbikes, 8 including 5 Juveniles Nabbed

Mangaluru: The City police have arrested three motorcycle thieves along with five juveniles and recovered 17 motorbikes and two cars from their possession.

Three of the arrested have been identified as Arjun K B (18), Robin Baby (22) and Tijo Joseph alias Augustine (25), all from Kannur Kerala.

During the investigation, the accused revealed that they wanted to lead a lavish life and planned to steal expensive motorbikes. The gang would travel from Kannur to Mangaluru by bikes, train or car and during the night, look for expensive motorbikes parked on the roadside and steal them. After the crime, they would ride the stolen bikes to Kerala and sell them to Unais in Kanhagad, Augustine alias Tijo Joseph, Abin and Robin Baby at Payyavur Chandanikapara.

The police have seized 17 motorbikes, which included 7 Royal Enfield, 2 KTM, 1 Yamaha, 1 Suzuki, 1 Bajaj RS, 2 Bajaj Pulsar 200, 2 FZ, 1 Yamaha 135, and a Chevrolet Tavera and a Toyota Innova which were used for committing the crime from their possession.

Under the direction of Police commissioner Vipul Kumar and the able guidance of DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashant and under the leadership of ACP Mangaluru Central M Jagadish, the operation was carried out by the North Station Police Inspector Yogish Kumar B C, Mangaluru West Police station PSI Crime Nithu R Gude, ASI Ananth Murdeshwar, Staff Venkatesh, Jayanand, Umesh Kottari, Girish Jogi, Girish Kumble, Ajith Mathew, Ashith Kiran, Prashanth Shetty, Shivappa, Kishore Surendra, Devi Prasad, Satish, Dayanand, Vasu, Sujan, Basavaraj and Gururaj.

Police commissioner Vipul Kumar has commended the good work done by the police personnel in nabbing the accused and has assured of rewarding the team.
