‘Those who Admit to Private Hospitals for Breathlessness Should inform Dist Admin’ – DC Sindhu

Mangaluru: “The District administration and the Health Department has taken various measures since the end of February to prevent COVID-19 from spreading in the district. We have requested people returning from the Gulf to inform us about their travel history. We have also visited the houses of those who had traveled to check on their health”, said Deputy commissioner Sindhu Roopesh in a video message on April 19.

DC Sindhu further said, “The district administration has maintained a record of all those who had traveled and also kept a track of their home quarantine contacting them every day. Those having a history of travel and have failed to register with the district administration are requested to inform the administration. Anyone having COVID-19 symptoms like fever, breathlessness, cough, etc should immediately seek medical intervention by informing the district administration. It has come to our notice that some persons without informing the district administration are on self-medication”.

DC Sindhu requested all and said, “If anyone has any COVID-19 symptoms, they should go to the fever clinics for testing. We have set up fever clinics in all the medical colleges, taluk hospitals, and the Wenlock hospital. Anyone with the COVID-19 symptoms should not wait, please bring such persons to the notice of the doctors or the district administration so that they will receive treatment as soon as possible after carrying out necessary tests.”

DC Sindhu also said, “12 patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered from the disease. If those suffering from such symptoms inform us, they can be treated as soon as possible. It is the duty of every citizen to co-operate with the district administration to win the war against COVID-19”.
