Three injured in lorry-gas tanker collision

Uppinangady: Three people were severely injured when a gas tanker and a lorry collided head-on at Bajathur Bedrodi here, on July 16.

The injured have been identified as the driver of the gas tanker Vilayaraj (42), a native of Selam; cleaner Suresh (38) and the lorry driver Shakeel from Doddaballapur. All the injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Puttur.

According to sources, the gas tanker was plying from Bengaluru to Mangaluru and the lorry, which was carrying iron ore, was plying from Mangaluru to Bengaluru. The lorry collided head-on with the gas tanker at Bedrodi.

A case has been registered in the Puttur traffic police station.
