Mangaluru: Three Jesuit deacons of the Karnataka Jesuit Province were ordained priests by Most Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford D’Souza, Bishop of Udupi, at the Divine Mercy Church, Fatima Retreat House (FRH), Mangaluru, on Friday, October 2, at 10 a.m.

The newly ordained priests are Fr. Larren Joy Menezes SJ, Fr. Prajwal Marvin Apose SJ, and Fr. Roshan Kelvine Goveas SJ, who belong to the Bombay Province.

The ordination ceremony was a moment of thanksgiving to Almighty God and the People of God for the vocation and priestly ministry of the three newly ordained priests. The celebration was held under the theme, “Hearts that Love, Hands that Serve,” highlighting the call to a life of loving service.

Fr. Dionysius Vaz SJ, Provincial of the Karnataka Jesuit Province, expressed gratitude to Bishop Leslie Clifford D’Souza and to all the priests, religious, family members, friends, and well-wishers who joined the celebration and supported the newly ordained priests on their journey towards priesthood.

Following the Mass, the newly ordained priests and their parents were felicitated.

Fr. Marvin Apose SJ spoke on behalf of the newly ordained priests and thanked all those who had accompanied and supported them at different stages of their journey toward priesthood.

Fr. Roydon Misquith SJ and Sch. Melvyn Govius SJ prepared the deacons for the ordination ceremony and helped organise the liturgy. Fr. Antony Pais served as the Master of Ceremonies for the Ordination Mass.
