Three Killed, 5 Injured in Ghastly Mishap near Virajpet

Madikeri: Three people were killed and five injured as a container truck went out of the control of its driver and rolled over on a passenger car on the Mamkoottam ghat road in Iritty in Virajpet taluk. The incident happened on Thursday morning at Perumbady on Karnataka-Kerala boundary.
The deceased have been identified as Ashiq (19), Minas (19) and Yasin (18). They hailed from Thikkodi near Vadakara in Kerala.
They were students of MHES College at Cherandathoor. Eight of them were travelling in the ill-fated Chevrolet Tavera car. They were on a sight-seeing tour to Kodagu.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Virajpet.
