Bodies of Missing Fishermen Found at Koderi

Kundapur: The bodies of the missing fishermen were found at Koderi, on August 17.

The deceased have been identified as Laxman Kharvi (34), Shekar (39) and Manjunath Kharvi residents of Uppunda, who had gone missing after the country boat in which they were fishing capsized at the estuary at Koderi Jetty, Gangolli.

According to the police, on August 16, 12 fishermen had gone for fishing. While they were fishing, their boat capsized due to heavy winds near the estuary at Koderi Jetty, Gangolli. Out of the 12, eight fishermen swam to safety, but the other four had gone missing. The fishermen had gone out to sea from Uppunda near Byndoor.

Coastal security police sources said that there were 12 fishermen in the boat and the remaining fishermen managed to swim to the shore. On August 17 morning, Naga Kharvi’s body was found at Kirimanjeswara.
