Three of a family killed in bike-car crash in MP’s Dhar

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh):  In a road accident near Jirabad on the Mangod-Manawar highway in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on Sunday, a man, his four-year-old son and the child’s uncle were killed, while a 12-year-old girl was left seriously injured.

The family was travelling by motorcycle to invite a sister for Rakshabandhan when a “Bolero car” collided with their bike. According to police, the incident occurred around noon near Dagaria forest village, about five kilometres “from the sister’s home” in Rodda village on Manawar Road.

Antarsingh (32), a labourer from Keshvi, had set out with his four-year-old son Ashok, 12-year-old daughter Resham and 50-year-old uncle Bhurusingh on his bike. They were heading to extend a Rakhi invitation when a Bolero car coming from Amjhera towards Zirabad struck them with severe force. The impact was so powerful that the motorcycle was thrown far off the road. Antarsingh, little Ashok and Bhurusingh died on the spot. Resham sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Gandhwani Hospital by Zirabad police for treatment.

Emergency services reached the scene promptly following a call, and the bodies of the deceased were sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination. Police officials of the Zirabad police outpost said preliminary investigations indicate the Bolero hit the bike from behind. Witness statements are being recorded, and evidence has been collected from the site.

Traffic on the Magod-Manawar road was disrupted for some time as passers-by were stunned by the sight of the mangled bike and three bodies lying on the road.

The tragedy has plunged the village into mourning. What was meant to be a joyful preparation for the brother’s arrival on Raksha Bandhan has turned into profound grief. Police are continuing their investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision.
