Tight Security for Udupi Vitla Pindi Festival; Drone Surveillance Deployed

Udupi: In view of the famous Vitla Pindi and Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations in Udupi, the Udupi District Police have made extensive security arrangements to ensure public safety, maintain law and order, and facilitate smooth traffic movement.

A total of one Superintendent of Police, one Additional Superintendent of Police, two Deputy Superintendents of Police, six Police Inspectors, 25 Police Sub-Inspectors and 35 Assistant Sub-Inspectors have been deployed for security duties. In addition, 186 head constables, police constables, women police personnel, and 50 Home Guards will be deployed as part of the security arrangements.

As additional security measures, one KSRP platoon, nine DAR platoons, three Fire and Emergency Services teams, two ambulances and three drone teams have been deployed. The police department has taken special precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations.

To ensure smooth parking for vehicles arriving with devotees, seven parking locations have been identified across the city. Parking arrangements have been made at MGM Grounds, Sri Krishna Math Rajangana parking area, Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Hall parking area, Beedinagudde Grounds, Beedinagudde Stadium, Vidyodaya School parking area and Mandavi Royal Garden parking area.

Special priority has been given to crowd management and ensuring the safety of women and children during the festival. The police will also seek assistance from volunteers and other support teams.

A total of 45 additional CCTV cameras have been installed at key locations across the city for continuous surveillance.

Twelve public announcement systems are being used to provide necessary instructions and information to the public.

Fingerprint scanners will also be used to identify individuals with a previous history of criminal activities and monitor their movements.

The entire festival area will be kept under continuous surveillance through drone cameras as an additional security measure.

The Udupi District Police said they have taken all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the Vitla Pindi and Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations are conducted peacefully and safely.

The police have appealed to the public to cooperate with the department, strictly follow traffic rules, and comply with instructions issued by police personnel to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the festival.
