Truck Hits Highway Patrol Vehicle, Four Bikes in Shiroor; One Dead
Byndoor: A 45-year-old motorcyclist was killed on the spot after a truck reportedly lost control and rammed into a highway patrol vehicle before hitting four motorcycles near Shiroor in Byndoor taluk on Thursday. The four motorcycles were also damaged in the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Nagendra Mahale (45) of Shiroor.

According to reports, highway maintenance personnel were engaged in removing a vehicle that had met with an accident on the highway. Traffic had been temporarily restricted, and barricades had been placed at the spot. A highway patrol vehicle belonging to the police had also been stationed there.
Meanwhile, a truck loaded with goods reportedly lost control while travelling downhill and collided with the highway patrol vehicle. It subsequently rammed into four motorcycles parked on the road, damaging them. Nagendra Mahale, who was riding one of the motorcycles, died on the spot.
The truck, reportedly carrying a load of rubber, was travelling from Kerala towards Maharashtra.
Circle Inspector Santosh Kaykini and other police officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection. An investigation into the accident is underway, and a case has been registered at the Byndoor Police Station.
