Tulu Koota Kuwait Successfully Hosts Ramadan Iftar Gathering 2026
Kuwait: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK) organized a Ramadan Iftar Gathering on Thursday, 26 February 2026, at the Indian School of Excellence in Salmiya, Kuwait. The event brought together community members, leaders, partners, and invited guests to observe the breaking of fast during Ramadan.

Tulu Koota Kuwait, a prominent cultural association serving the Tulu-speaking community in Kuwait for the past 26 years, was established in 2000 with the aim of fostering unity through language while promoting the rich social and cultural heritage of Tulu Nadu. The association, affiliated with the Embassy of India in Kuwait, continues to support educational, cultural, and welfare initiatives for the community.
The TKK Iftar Gathering 2026 aimed to strengthen community bonds and highlight the values that define the month of Ramadan. Leaders and representatives from Karnataka-based associations participated.
The evening’s program was hosted by the multi-talented TKK member Mr. Lionel Rayan Mascarenhas, who welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of unity, service, and compassion during Ramadan. He also introduced the distinguished guests of the evening, including Mr. Abdul Razak Nitte, Manager of Badr Medical Center, Kuwait; Rev. Fr. Darrel Fernandes, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Arabia Basilica; Rev. Fr. Avil Rosario, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Daniel Comboni Church; and Dr. Surendra Nayak, Former President of the Indian Doctors Forum, Kuwait. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed and honored with flower bouquets by Mr. Vijay Kuwar Kairangala.
The program commenced at 4:45 PM with a welcome address by TKK Vice President Mr. Roshan Prashant Quadras.
As a gesture of appreciation, Tulu Koota Kuwait honored the presidents of various Karnataka associations in Kuwait who have continued to extend their support to TKK. Mr. Parkash Pinto, President of the Kuwait Canara Welfare Association, addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on the significance of Ramadan and Iftar gatherings. He also congratulated TKK for organizing a meaningful event that promotes community harmony.

• Qur’an Recitation: A soulful recitation to commence the program by Mr. Mohammad Al Sarraf
• Guest Speeches: Inspirational messages delivered by Fr. Darrel Fernandes and Dr. Surendra Nayak
• Dua (Supplication): A special Ramadan message highlighting the spiritual importance of fasting delivered by Mr. Abdul Razak Nitte
• Iftar: Guests broke their fast together at sunset
• Dinner: An opportunity for interaction and strengthening relationships among community members
The Iftar gathering served as a meaningful platform to foster unity among diverse community groups and strengthen relationships among members of various associations. The event also highlighted TKK’s ongoing commitment to community development and social harmony.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Lionel Rayan Mascarenhas thanked everyone for their efforts and support in making the event a success.
