Two Arrested in Attempt to Send Ganja to Dubai

Kasaragod: The Kerala anti-narcotic cell, on receipt of a reliable tip-off, intercepted a car here and seized 3.5 kgs of ganja intended to be smuggled out to Dubai.

The operation took place at the Chandragiri junction in Kasaragod on Monday around 6-30 pm. Principal sub-inspector Ranjit Ravindran and Vidyanagar sub-inspector Ajit Kumar and their team detected the contraband being taken to Mangaluru airport.

Ummer Farooq, scheduled to fly by the JetAir flight to Dubai at 11-30 pm, had planned to carry it with him. He is said to have escaped when the police stopped the car, leaving behind the ganja packet and his two associates, B H Aziz (29) of Talekunnu, Bedadka, and Ibrahim Khalil (29) of Anas Manzil in Bekal.

They were arrested as they were about to buy a ticket from a travel agency here. The car and ganja have been seized, while a search is on for Ummer Farooq.

  1. “Ummar, Aziz and Ibraheem…” report quoting individuals who had the master plan to smuggle ganja to Dubai.

I wonder why police tried to stop them here. They should have allowed them board the flight and informed officials in Dubai. If I am right, the punishment in Dubai is much more severe than in India. These jobless geniuses from Kasaragody need tough lessons.
