Two drown in Hiriyadka Swarna River
Udupi: Two persons drowned in the Swarna river at Baje near Hiriyadka on Wednesday, March 27.
The deceased has been identified as Puspa (48) wife of Krishna and Ashwini (13) daughter of Manjunath both residents of Baje.
According to sources Pushpa and Ashwini had gone to the river to wash the clothes. When Ashwini slipped into the river Pushpa rushed to rescue her, but both drowned in the river. Local immediately lifted and rushed both of them to the hospital but they breathed their last on the way.
A case has been registered in the Hiriyadka Police Station.
