Two including Bajrang Dal Activist Arrested in Cattle Trafficking

Mangaluru: The Vittal police have arrested two persons including a Bajrang Dal activist in connection with cattle trafficking at Kadambu on July 26.

The arrested have been identified as Sashikumar (48) from Fadnur and Abdul Haris (21) from Kolnadu.

According to the police, on July 26 at around 11:00 am, Bajrang Dal activist Sashikumar along with Abdul Haris were transporting cattle in a pickup to Kerala. On getting information the Vittal police got into action and checked an Ashok Leyland Pickup. While checking the pickup, the police found four cows and a calf in the pickup.

The police took both Sashikumar and Abdul Haris into custody and seized the vehicle along with the cattle all worth Rs 5 lakh from their possession.

Accused Sashikumar is said to be an activist of the Bajrang Dal and Abdul Haris has been earlier involved in cow theft in Alike. The Konaje police have registered various cases related to cow theft against him. Abdul Haris was using various vehicles for cattle trafficking.

The operation was carried out by the Vittal sub-inspector Nagaraj H E, Abhijith, Lokesh, Ramesh, Rakshith and Raghuram.
