Udupi: Bakrid Holiday Turns Tragic, College Student Killed in Road Mishap at Sringeri

Udupi: A Bakrid holiday picnic turned tragic after an Udupi based college student died in a road mishap at Sringeri on Friday, September 25.

The deceased has been identified as Rithesh Salian (20), son of hotel owners Ramesh and Hema, residents of Indrali near MGM College Udupi.

On September 25, Rithesh Salian had gone to Sringeri for a picnic along with his friends Vijay, Koushik, Adithya Gouatham, Adithya Samaga and Allan on four bikes. Adithya was riding the motorbike with Rithesh as his pillion. When Adithya and Rithesh reached Bidirugodu cross, the bike skidded on the road and hit an oncoming car. Rithesh suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot. Rithesh was a second year BA student at a prestigious college in Udupi.

A case has been registered in the Sringeri Police Station.
