Udupi: Bishop Gerald Lobo to Felicitate Pejawar Swamiji during Pura Pravesha

Udupi: Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese will be felicitating Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math after his pura pravesha (entry into city) said Rathna Verma at a meeting organized by District Administration under Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge District at the Paryaya office of the Pejwar Math here on January 3.

Vinay Kumar Sorake said that additional bus service will be started during the Paryaya from Bengaluru to Udupi and a memorandum will be submitted to the Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy in this regard. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be invited to the Paryaya on January 5 after meeting him along with MLA Pramod Madhwaraj.

The historic Paryaya will be celebrated as a State festival and preparations are on for celebrating the Paryaya in great pomp and tradition.

Dr R Vishal, Deputy Commissioner said that SP K Annamalai has initiated steps for security and traffic management during the Paryaya, a micro plan will be prepared. The Udupi Utsav to be held from January 16 to January 19 will be cancelled to utilize the space for parking.

The CMC commissioner has been briefed on drinking water arrangements, cleanliness and other arrangements to provide basic amenities. 26 toilets are constructed by Nirmithi Kendra. The Health Department will be organizing clinics near Puttige Math, Rajangana and Jodukatte. The ZP will be setting up stalls in the board high school.

The Paryaya Samithi has requested the district administration to put up sign boards and information hoardings. The Samihti also said that they will provide all necessary assistance to the police department by giving necessary information on arrangements and VVIPS.

Annamalai K IPS, District Superintendent of Police, ZP CEO Priyanka Mary Francis, Former MLA Raghupati Bhat, Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, Ganesh, Diwan Raghuram Acharya and others were present.
