Udupi: Body of 10 year-old Missing Boy Found in Well – Police Suspects Murder

Udupi: The situation is tense in Kota after the body of a missing boy was found in Moorukai, Kota. The deceased is identified as Sugosh Bhat (10).

Sugosh Bhat, who was studying in fourth standard, after returning from school was playing with his friend Jaydev Adiga (16) in his house on Saturday, January 10. Later he left for his home from Jaydev’s house after having food but never reached his house.

Sugosh’s parents along with the locals started searching for Sugosh and found his bicycle near an old house. Sugosh was declared missing since then. The Kota police were informed about the same and they interrogated Jaydev’s relatives on Saturday. They also searched the well with the help of emergency service personnel after finding that the color of the water had changed. Jaydev’s uncle’s friends who had been to their house were also interrogated. Later, Sugosh’s relatives filed a missing persons complaint in the Kota Police Station.

Later on Sunday when the police were heading to Jaydev’s house, they spotted Jaydev riding a bicycle, when they enquired about his presence in the area. He replied that he was going for tuition. The police asked Jaydev’s uncle to report along with Jaydev to the Police Station.

While Jaydev’s uncle was travelling along with the police to Kota Police Station, they found Jaydev’s bicycle near Moorukai and about Jaydev being missing on Sunday afternoon.

Soon rumours spred that Jaydev was involved in the missing case of Sugosh. The police team assigned to search Sugosh found Sugosh’s body in a well near Jaydev’s house on Monday, January 12.

The police later detained Jaydev in relation to the case. The situation in the area was tense after war of words with the police while they were detaining Jaydev.
