Udupi: The discussions on creation of separate statehood has no sense said Kagodu Timmappa, Speaker Legislative Assembly Government of Karnataka.

He was speaking to mediapersons during his visit to Shri Krishna Math, Udupi here on April 13. The State that was unified with the struggle and sacrifice of many people would remain so. The demand indicates the mindset of MLA Umesh Katti and people should not take it seriously as his demands are baseless.

Former minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA (Hukkeri), Umesh V Katti recently demanded the State government to convene a special session of the legislature to declare separate statehood for North Karnataka.

The bifurcation of BBMP has to be effectively discussed by the government, instead of hurrying on the same. He also said he does not desire for any ministerial berth.

Later Kagodu Thimmappa obtained the darshan of Shri Krishna Mukhyaprana and received the blessings of Paryaya Sri Sri Vidya Vallabha Theertha Swamiji.
