Udupi Dist Congress Submits Memorandum to Dismiss BSY and Amith Shah

Udupi: The Udupi district Congress has submitted a memorandum to President of India demanding the dismissal of the Government of Karnataka headed by B S Yediyurappa and Union Home minister Amith Shah.

In the Memorandum the district Congress has stated that on 27th October the BJP Core-committee held a meeting in Hubli with regard to the preparation for the forthcoming Bye-elections in 15 Assembly Constituencies of Karnataka in which Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had openly spoken about the disqualified MLAs stating that all the 17 MLAs had resigned at the behest of the BJP National President Amith Shah and were kept in Mumbai under the direct supervision fo BJP leadership. The Disqualified MLAs were the main reason for the BJP to form the Govt in Karnataka. These MLAs stayed in Mumbai for 2 and a half to 3 months even without seeing their families and without visiting their constituencies. BJP central leadership were aware of all the developments, while they were kept hostage in Mumbai. We all know that the decision of coercing the 17 MLAs to resign is not only because of B S Yediyurappa or any other leader from the State, but is also at the behest of the National President of the BJP Amith Shah and he himself monitored their stay for 2 months in Mumbai. B S Yediyurappa made it very clear in the meeting that because of the sacrifice of 17 MLAs who had resigned from the coalition government, the BJP Govt was formed in Karnataka.

BS Yeddyurappa went on and said that these disqualified MLAs approached the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Speaker of Karnataka Assembly. The said matter is reserved for judgment and the Judgement may come after 4th November 2019 and 99% the Judgment will be in favour of the Disqualified MLAs. This indicates that BJP is trying its best to influence the Judiciary. Further, BS Yediyurappa confesses that he committed a crime by convincing the disqualified MLAs to resign by satisfying their demands and allurement of power by offering cabinet berths to all 17 disqualified MLAs.

BSY states that these MLAs have sacrificed a lot and nobody should criticize them. Engineering defection by coercive methods is a fraud upon the Constitution of India and on the mandate of the people for which the leaders of the BJP are instrumental.

It is apt to mention here that the BJP Govt headed by BSY is yet to fill 15 ministerial berths. Many minister’s and BJP leaders have on many occasions stated that 17 ministerial berths will be given only to the disqualified MLAs. BSY has further appealed to the leaders of BJP not to speak anything against the Disqualified MLAs. These statements of BSY as Chief Minister clearly admits that he and BJP Central leadership have masterminded and engineered the Resignation and Defection of 17 MLAs. This violates the provisions of Article 190 and the 10th schedule fo the constitution of India.

BSY and Amith Shah being the CM of Karnataka and the Union Home minister respectively have taken an oath that they are going to uphold the provisions of the constitution of India contrary to the oath they have engineered and forced the resignations of 15 MLAs and brought down the popular coalition Govt of Karnataka. These acts of the Chief Minister BSY and Amith Shah, home minister Govt of India and BJP leadership is nothing but Murder of Democracy, which is against the peoples’ mandate, provisions of the constitution and Principals of Democracy.

The Above said facts and circumstances clearly indicate that BSY and Shah, who engineered defections have no legal and moral right to continue in office as chief minister and Union Home Minister.

The said statement of BSY has been widely telecasted in all the media. The Congress party has demanded to dismiss BS Yediyurappa and Amith Shah for their unethical, undemocratic and unconstitutional act.

MA Gafoor Ex-KPCC Gen Secretary, U R Sabhapathi Ex MLA, Veronica Cornelio Ex KPCC Secretary, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor dist COngrres president, Prakyath Shetty vice president, DCC Udupi District, Congress leaders Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, Yathish Karkera and others were present.
