Udupi Dist Police Question and parade 157 cattle theft offenders and buyers

Udupi: The Udupi district police held a parade of cattle theft offenders and buyers under three subdivisions on July 15. The Police rounded up 157 cattle theft offenders with previous offences, besides learning their present status and activities in the district.

In Kundapur under the leadership of Nisha James SP Udupi District, Kundapur DySP Dinesh Kumar rounded up 50 cattle theft offenders and buyers including 15 from Kundpaur Town, 14 from Kundapur Rural, 6 from Byndoor, 5 from Shankernarayana, 5 from Kolluru, 4 from Gangolli, two from Amasebailu Police station and paraded them.

In Udupi under the leadership of Udupi DySP T R Jaishanker 32 cattle theft offenders including 11 from Kota, 10 from Hiriyadka, 7 from Malpe, 4 from Brahmavar were rounded up, questioned and paraded.

In Karkala under the leadership of Krishnakanth ASP Karkala 75 cattle theft offenders including 7 from Karkala Town, 14 from Karkala Rural, 15 from Hebri, 8 from Ajekar, 9 from Kaup, 10 from Padubidri, 12 from Shirva Police Station limits were questioned and paraded.

The Police warned the cattle theft offenders and buyers that they would be booked under the Goonda Act if they continued to be involved in any cattle trafficking.

The current activities of cattle theft offenders are also being monitored.
