Udupi District Declares Holiday for Anganwadis and Schools Amidst Heavy Rainfall

Udupi: In response to a Red Alert issued by the Meteorological Department forecasting intensified rainfall, the Udupi District Commissioner, Dr. K. Vidyakumari, has declared a holiday for all Anganwadis, government, aided, and private primary and secondary schools within the district on June 12. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure, prioritizing the safety and well-being of students given the continuous heavy rainfall experienced in the region over the past few days.

The order specifically applies to Anganwadis and primary and secondary schools. Degree colleges, postgraduate courses, diplomas, engineering, and ITI institutions will continue to operate as scheduled. The district administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue further directives as necessary.
