Udupi Gleams as Shiroor Paryaya Mahotsava City Illumination is Inaugurated

Udupi: The city of Udupi has been bathed in a vibrant glow following the inauguration of decorative electric illumination arranged as part of the Shiroor Paryaya Mahotsava. The ceremony, held on Thursday evening in front of Canara Bank on Court Road, was officiated by Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T.K., marking the commencement of enhanced festivities leading up to the Paryaya.

Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T.K. expressed his admiration for the meticulously organised preparations and the aesthetic enhancements made to the city. “This is my first experience participating in the Paryaya celebrations,” he stated, “and I am delighted to witness the beautifully decorated city and the systematic approach to the Paryaya festival preparations.”

Welcome Committee President and Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna presided over the event, emphasising the significance of the elaborate illumination in amplifying the grandeur of this year’s Paryaya celebrations. “Udupi city has been adorned like a bride for the Shiroor Paryaya,” he declared. He further elaborated on the financial investment dedicated to the project, stating that decorative lighting, costing Rs 50 lakh, has been implemented with funding support from the Udupi City Municipality.

MLA Yashpal Suvarna also recognised and felicitated Krishna Kulal, acknowledging his instrumental role in the installation and arrangement of the electric illumination.

The inauguration was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Canara Bank General Manager Gangadhar, Municipal Commissioner Mahantesh, former Municipal Council President Prabhakar Poojary, Rajani Hebbar, BJP District President Naveen Shetty Kutyar, Welcome Committee General Secretary Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, Mahila Morcha leader Padmalatha, Municipal Councillor Balakrishna Shetty, and prominent leaders Veena Shetty, Publicity Committee Convenor Nandan Jain, and Vishnumurthy Acharya, among others. The collective presence of these individuals underscored the community’s unified support for the Shiroor Paryaya Mahotsava and the efforts to create a visually stunning and spiritually uplifting experience for all.

The Shiroor Paryaya Mahotsava promises a continuation of vibrant cultural and religious events, enhanced by the newly inaugurated illumination, transforming Udupi into a beacon of festivity and devotion.
