Udupi: A middle age person who went fishing at the Kaup beach drowned on Saturday, June 4.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Karkera, a resident of Kaup.
According to the police, Ramesh Karkera had the habit of keeping an inflated lorry tube as a buoy to swim and spread the fishing net. It is learnt that the tube might have deflated and entangled in the net, causing Karkera to drown.
The Kaup Police have registered the case.
