Udupi: MSW Students Highlight Atrocities against Women in Society though Street Play

Udupi: ‘Hennu Jagada Kannu,’ a street play sensitising the public to the atrocities against women and children in modern society was held at the Service Bus-stand on Saturday March 14.

The play was staged by the MSW students of St Mary’s College Shirva and organised by Women and child development department Udupi district.

Gracy Gonsalves Deputy Director women and Child department inaugurated the Street Play by beating the drums.

The play focused on the sexual exploitation and harassment faced by women in society today, especially during travel, at the work place and home. The play conveyed the message to put an end to atrocities on women.

Sarala B Kanchan, President of District Women’s Group Udupi, Jayashree Krishnaraj vice president of Human Rights national council Udupi, Mallika Balakrishna Poojary ZP member,  Sheela K Shetty, Vasanti Rao Koradkal, Sarasu Bangera and others were present.
