“The district is a forerunner in educating young minds. Late Dr V S Acharya had taken special initiatives to develop the Board High School. He recommended the construction of the new building and had asked for a grant. A grant of Rs 25 lakh was released from the MP fund for the construction of the building. More concentration and efforts are required in building Board High School to preserve its integrity. The school has nurtured young minds, and the students of Board High school have been effectively working for the society,” he added.

Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake said that Mahatma Gandhi’s dreams have been realized by the Board High School by sharing knowledge. The school has a history of 124 years, and the school has supported good talents to grow and flourish. “Teachers in Udupi district are playing a prominent role in building future citizens. The district has bagged the first place in SSLC examinations, second place in PUC and CET, and to add more feathers to the cap, a youth has bagged 8th rank in the Civil Services examinations. Students are bringing glory to Udupi by showcasing their talents in the national and global platforms.”

  1. The people in Authority for development of Udupi are forever
seen only inaugrating showrooms, concerts, festivals, and buildings.

Why can’t these take a good look at Udupi town, and realize:
    1. The City bus stand and the Service are not safe public place, always too crowded with buses entering and leaving recklessly, with little or no regard to people in the vicinity.
    2. One cannot cross a road in Udupi town, needless to say, the elders and the handicapped face the biggest challenge and risk death. Nothing is foreseen for pedestrian crossing.
    3. Traffic volume of buses, lorries, cars, rickshaws, and motorcycles have increased 100 fold, yet no traffic light system are installed at Kalsanka, at old Diana circle, at the KSRTC Municipal Bus stand area, at Ajjarkad near Big Bazaar, at Bannanje-DC Office road intersection.
    4. Street lighting is non-existant at Clock Tower (Agitation Area), old Diana Circle, and during power shut downs.
    5. Garbage bins are non-existant on main roads, public areas (Polishing Agents like Syndicate Bank, Sai Radha’s Manohar Shetty are donating this and that to get favours from the Municiplity), like Udupi Municipality cannot afford to buy bins, or install bus stops from the large revenue they garner from various taxes.
    6. Swaach Bharath – these same guys were seen with brooms etc., where are they today – just look at the garbage littered everywhere in Udupi – even a lot is being dumped on the way to the Udupi Railway Station. The garbage collection – Tractor ferrying a large bin on wheels is certainly of the gandhian times, people in authority should check the internet to know how solid waste is collected and managed today.
    7. The list can go on!
