Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj Holds Guddali Puja for International standard Indoor Tennis Court

Udupi: MLA of Udupi Pramod Madhwaraj said that Rs 8 crore has been spent for the development of sports infrastructure in the district. He was speaking after the Guddali Puja of the international standard Indoor Tennis Court at Ajjarkadu here on Saturday, November 14.

Minister of State for Sports and Fisheries Abhayachandra Jain assured the people of Udupi that his department will be providing Rs 1 crore for the Indoor Tennis Court in the district. “Our district sportsmen should show interest in all the games. After Delhi, Udupi is the first district across the nation to have an international standard Indoor Tennis Court. It is necessary to promote tennis in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts. Already, the department has released funds for the construction of the court. The work will start from November 16,” he said.

Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty (director of the district Sports and Youth Empowerment Department), Arun Kumar (Nirmithi Kendra), Prakash Kodavoor of District Badminton Association, Sportsperson U Damodar, Devanand, Chandrashekar Shetty and Sachin were present.
