Udupi: Tensions prevailed yet again in Kodi, Kundapur where police resorted to lathi charge and fired tear gas to control the mob, which included people from two communities who were pelting stones on each other.
Few youth were sitting near a shop while another group of youth on bikes were passing by. The group near the shop started recording the video of the group on bikes. Angered by this, the bikers started abusing the other group and it gradually turned into a fight.
Soon, the police intervened but the fight had turned violent and both groups started pelting stones at each other. A few of the youth and the police were injured.
The raged youth damaged window glasses and chairs at a hall where the wedding function was going on. Soon, the DySP of Kundapur and other officials reached the spot. DySP of Kundapur ordered for lathi charge and tear gas as the mob had turned violent.
KSRP and DAR were deployed in the area.
