There were many initiatives taken and I am very happy to say that at least 110 of the Budget commitments have been fulfilled. The Indian Railways has been taking a number of initiatives right from maintenance to transparency. A number of steps are being taken to make the Railways more people-friendly.

Further minister said that one of the areas where the railways has made progress was ticketing by improving the website of the IRCTC for online bookings, including daily and monthly tickets. He also stressed on the cleanliness drive in the trains and added that mechanised laundries have helped immensely. With collaboration, we can make railways cleaner. We have also started mechanised laundries wherever possible. It has helped us immensely in the cleaning process. And our idea is to have more of such laundries. Dearth of funds will not dither the Railways as the ministry has signed an agreement with LIC for Rs 1.5 lakh crore loan at low interest rate. Customers have been therefore, given a choice about the type of food they want, he added.

  1. It’s nauseating to see how we keep inviting political leaders to inaugurate everything from apartment complex to escalators!! What next? Public toilet inauguration? No wonder, these politicians feel very special and entitled. In reality, they are some of the least qualified people in our society.

  2. Dear readers,

It is only in India ‘Ribbon cutting’ and ‘Shila Nyas’ became passion for political circle as if they achieved something great.

I would like to ask the Union Minister,do we have an effective ‘Urban planners’ who will think about disable, easy tracker for blinds,UV treated potable water, sanitation, waste disposal while planning in initial stage?

For first time I concur with Mr.Original views.Nice observation sir.

Will ‘Incredible India’ will ever ‘develop’ beyond this trend? Is these not dent to public exchequers?

I would have appreciated if this would have been inaugurated by old man, disable person or pregnant women in the future?

None on Indian railways has easy embarking/disembarking for the old people. Platform are designed in such way that even boarding carriage for normal person is difficult task. For the blinds there are no easy walk way or guidelines.

Is ‘Digital India’ will ever think about common man daily hardship?

    Jai Hind
