Udupi: The state government and the district administration are deliberately hurting the sentiments of the people of the Hindu community by barring Praveen Bhai Togadia to participate in the Hindu Samajotsava which is scheduled to held on March 9, said VHP leader Baikadi Suprasad Shetty. He was addressing a press meet at the Press Club here, on March 7.

“Praveen Bhai Togadia has no cases filed in his name in the jurisdiction of Udupi district. He has also visited the district in the past but the district administration and the police department seems to be unconvinced. An order barring the entry of Praveen Bhai Togadia to Udupi district has been issued by the district administration and police department which has hurt the sentiments of the people. The organizers request the district administration and the police department to scrap the order.”

“A legal solution has been sought on the same. Consultations are on with the lawyers of the High Court of Karnataka regarding this issue. If all goes well, Praveen Bhai Togadia will participate in the Hindu Samajotsava,” he added.

“Hindu Samajotsava will be organized in a peaceful manner. We are not afraid with the objections from anyone. If the government and the District Minister in-charge has any concern for Hindus, then they should immediately vacate the stay order. Hindu Samajotsava will deliver its promises of unity and peace,” he added.

He also said that the convention would be organised to celebrate the golden jubilee of the parishat and not to exhibit the might and strength of Hindus. Around 1,00,000 people are expected to be participating in the Samajotsava. A rally will be organized from Jodukatte at 2.00 pm, which will culminate at the MGM grounds. The stage function would start at 4 p.m. and end at 5.15 p.m. Vishvesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala D. Veerendra Heggade and others will take part in the samajotsava.
