Unidentified persons Attack Jewellery Shop Owner in Kota

Udupi: four persons entered the Durga Jewellers at Kota as customers and attacked the owner with lethal weapons during the power cut time on Saturday here on May 21.

Ravindra Acharya the jeweller was seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital in Brahmavar.

According to the police, four persons entered the shop in the guise of customers during the evening time to purchase ornaments. After seeing some ornaments, they closed the shutter of the shop when Ravindra went into the backroom to bring new designs of the ornaments.

They attacked Ravindra with lethal weapons and collected whatever jewellery was on display. The owner of the neighbouring shop noticed that the shop was closed from inside, Suspecting something may have gone wrong, he lifted the shutter of the shop. Immediately the persons from inside the shop fled.

Udupi SP Annamalai, DySP Manjunath Shetty, Brahmavar CPI Arun Nayak Kota PSI Kabbalraj and other senior officials visited the Spot. The fingerprint experts and the canine squad also arrived at the spot for investigation.

A case has been registered in the Kota Police Station.
