Vinay Kumar Sorake Inaugurates Presbytery of Pangla Parish
Udupi: The newly built Presbytery (Residence for priests) and the parish office was inaugurated by Vinay Kumar Sorake (MLA Kaup and Ex Minister) and blessed by Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo (Bishop, Udupi Diocese) on Saturday 19th November 2016 at St John Evangelist Church Pangla.
A large number of priests, the faithful, guests and school children gathered in front of the new glittering Presbytery. It was a moment of joy and happiness to see the beautiful Presbytery as expected by the faithful for the priests who will be residing there in future.
Prior to the inaugural function, the Holy Eucharistic Mass was concelebrated by Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lob along with Fr Stany Tauro (Vicar Forane, Shirva Deanery), Fr Joseph Martis (Rector, St. Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu Mangaluru) and many other residents and guest priests.
The inaugural programme began with a warm welcome by Deacon Roy. Ex. Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurated the Presbytery followed by the lighting of the traditional lamp by Bishop Gerald Lobo, Sorake, Fr Baptist Menezes (Vicar General, Udupi Diocese), Fr StanyTauro (Vicar, Shirva Deanery), and Juliet Veera D’Souza (President, Katapady Gram Panchayat). Bishop Gerald blessed the entire Presbytery along with Fr Stany Tauro. After the final blessings, all the faithful and guests of honour proceeded to the stage for the stage programme.
