Vittal Police Apprehend Four Individuals in MDMA Trafficking Operation

Vittal: In a significant operation targeting narcotics trafficking, the Vittal Police have arrested four individuals suspected of peddling Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), a banned narcotic substance. The operation, conducted within the jurisdiction of the Vittal Police Station, resulted in the seizure of 17.97 grams of MDMA, estimated to be worth Rs 1,79,700.

According to official police reports, the arrests followed credible intelligence indicating the storage and sale of MDMA from a rented residence located in Neralakatte, specifically within the Indira Nagar area. Acting on this information, a dedicated police team, led by Police Sub-Inspector (Investigation-1) Ratnakumar M, executed a raid on the premises.

The rented house, identified as the residence of Ashraf G (38), a resident of Bhagavanta Kodi in Netla Mudnur, was thoroughly searched. At the time of the police action, three other individuals, identified as Hafeez alias Appi, Afwan, and Ashraf N A, were also present at the location.

The search of the premises led to the discovery of 17.97 grams of MDMA, with an estimated market value of Rs 1.79 lakh. In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officials also recovered a knife and other materials believed to be associated with the illegal drug operation. All seized items have been taken into police custody as evidence.

A formal case has been registered at the Vittal Police Station under Crime No. 61/2026. The charges filed against the arrested individuals include violations of Sections 8(c) and 22(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, as well as Section 27 of the Arms Act. An extensive investigation is currently underway to ascertain the full scope of the drug trafficking operation and to identify any additional individuals who may be involved.
