Vote is My Rights! Eco-Friends Group bring Awareness on Ethical Voting at Bhanuvara/Savayava Santhe (Sunday/Organic Vegetables/fruits Market)

Mangaluru: ECO-Friends Group organised an awareness drive on ethical voting during the Bhanuvara Savayava Santhe, at Mannagudde on Sunday, 31 March 2019. Handbills and stickers were given to the customers on the occasion. An awareness handbag bearing the date of the election in Dakshina Kannada and the message “Vote Is My Rights”; was distributed on the occasion. Banners demonstrating how to use the electronic voting machine (EVM) was also displayed. Awareness stickers were struck on the customers’ bikes and cars. The placards at the market read: “We sell vegetables and not our votes,” “We sell sugarcane juice and not our votes.”

Speaking to Team Mangalorean, Rajesh, a medical equipment dealer and also a active member of Eco-Friends Group said, “More awareness handbags will be distributed to at least 5,000 households in Mannagudda, Kadri areas, and many such bags will be distributed near milk selling booths, because the bags are ideal for carrying milk packets. We will also later distribute Stickers and badges highlighting the need to merchants, customers, auto drivers, two-wheeler riders, goods vehicle owners and labourers.

Sushma, a resident of Urwa Market who always shops Bhanuvara Santhe speaking to Team Mangalorean said, “Being a very health conscious person after I had some health problems, I like vegetables and fruits during this Bhanuvara Savayava Santhe, and prices are reasonable, and more than that they are healthy. Rajesh is always helpful, polite and friendly, and I love doing business at his Sunday market. This is a very good initiative that he and other members of Eco-Friends Group have come up with, in order to bring awareness about voting. Voting is a privilege, and we should not waste even a single vote, because even a single vote could make a difference. I urge everyone to vote, which I have been doing without fail since I got my voting rights”.

If you are a health conscious person, and would love to buy organic fruits and vegetables, then make a trip on Sunday morning or later to Mannagudda, near Barke police station, and buy the organic veggies and fruits of your choice or you can call 7829158286, and your vegetables/fruits will be delivered right to your doorsteps.
