We will Approach Concerned Authorities to Cancel Prabhakar Bhat’s Bail – Vinayraj

Mangaluru: “We are in the election process and all preparations for the forthcoming elections in the state are going on well. The forthcoming elections will be contested based on development versus negative publicity. In the last elections, people supported and voted for the Congress party. The people of the district as well as the state were fed-up with the BJP government and voted for the Congress. The Congress government led by CM Siddaramaiah has given corrupt free governance by fulfilling all the promises. For the development work, CM Siddaramaiah has received the Award for Most Improved State in Economy from Union Minister Arun Jaitley which shows that the central government agrees that the Congress has done very good development work in Karnataka. But in Dakshina Kannada some BJP leaders especially Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is insulting the minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader saying that U T Khader is involved with cow traffickers. We will approach the police commissioner as well as the Election commission officer and request to cancel Prabhakar Bhat’s bail in all the cases”, said Congress spokesperson A C Vinayraj in a press meet held at the DCC office here on April 7.

Addressing the mediapersons Vinayraj said, “During the last elections, before coming to power BJP leaders had assured of reducing the price of day-to-day commodities. When the oil price in the international market was $139, the petrol price here was Rs 65 and at that time the same BJP leaders got on to the streets and protested against the UPA government but now when the oil price is $69 in the international market the petrol price is Rs 80. Why are the BJP MP’s not raising their voice? There is a drop in price for areca and rubber and the growers are facing huge loss but the NDA government has not done anything to pay the support price for them. The BJP leaders are playing cheap politics on cows, dead bodies and nationalism.”

Vinayraj further said, “U T Khader is a minister and he is in an honourable position. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat who is on anticipatory bail for his inciting speeches is insulting Minister U T Khader using demeaning language. We will collect all the information on the number of cases booked against Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and the information on the cases he has obtained bail and appeal to the court to cancel the bail. People of the Dakshina Kannada district want peace, during the election time such comments are a violation of the model code of conduct. We have an opportunity to file a non-bailable case against Prabhakar Bhat. We will approach the Election Commission as well as the DC and file a complaint in this regard.”

Vinayraj also said, “BJP leaders said that they will bring the Anti cow slaughter bill in the state but since the BJP government is ruling in the centre from past four years why have they not implemented a Uniform law to ban cow slaughtering throughout the country? In Goa, the CM says that he cannot ban cow slaughtering because the people of Goa consume beef. Even in Nagaland, the government says that Beef is their staple diet. But here in Dakshina Kannada BJP leaders are playing with the sentiments of the people by bringing the “Cow” issue every now and then. Why are they creating division and violence among the people in the name of cow? India is the number one country in the world exporting beef, let the BJP leaders stop beef export first instead of creating problems in DK. The people of DK are aware of the cow politics of BJP. Last time the Congress had won in 7 constituencies but this time we will win in all the 8 constituencies.”

Congress leaders Neerajpal, Nazeer Bajal, Mithun and Shobha were also present.
