‘WEAR MASK for New Year Parties organized Indoors at Restaurants/Pubs/Lounges’- DC Ravi Kumar MR

Mangaluru: In the wake of Covid-19 that has been spreading Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar M R in an advisory, urged the public to wear masks in closed spaces, including pubs, bars, restaurants, cinema halls, shopping malls, offices, buses, trains, metros and in flights. He said it is necessary to take precautions during the New Year celebrations since several nations have been witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases. The DC said the situation in Dakshina Kannada is under control when it comes to the disease.

He further said “Since the number of Covid-19 cases is increasing in several countries across the world, precautions must be in place. As per the advisory issued by the Government of India and the suggestions of chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, people need to follow the guidelines compulsorily,” the DC said. Elderly persons and those who are sick should compulsorily wear masks even if they are indoors”.

“Those who have not availed the precautionary dose of vaccine against Covid-19 should avail the same immediately. Those who have symptoms of Covid-19 should immediately undergo tests and follow the protocol. Public gatherings and functions should be organised in open places during the daytime. Holding programmes in the early mornings and evenings may affect health due during winter. Masks and social distancing are a must in all gatherings, industries and factories. Avoid large gatherings in indoor auditoriums, and guidelines should be followed strictly to ensure that the district’s success in Covid-19 control continues,” added DC Ravi Kumar.
