Well Known Konkani Litterateur Edi Netto Awarded for Konkani Literary Work
Mangaluru: Well known Konkani litterateur Edi Netto, Jeppu is Awarded with late Victor Rodrigues Memorial Konkani Literary Award – 2018 on 08.07.2018, Sunday evening at Infant Jesus Shrine Hall, Bikarnakatte.
Founder President of Konkani Writers’ Association Karnataka Mr. Richard Moras conferred the award on Edi Netto and addressed the audience on handing over the rich treasure of konkani language & culture to the next generation. The award consists of Cheque for Rs. 10,000/-, Citation, Memento, Shawl, Garland, Flowers, Fruits & Honour. Rev. Dr Pius Pinto, Managing Trustee Samanvaya introduced Edi Netto.
The Awardee Edi Netto thanked Samanvaya and Mrs Celine Rodrigues w/o late Victor Rodrigues for recognizing his work, shared his past memories and gave tips to new budding konkani writers.
Fr Ronald Cutinha director of Samanvaya welcomed, Celine Rodrigues proposed vote of thanks and Dolphy Lobo, Cascia compered. Life of late Victor Rodrigues was presented to the audience through power point. Victor Rodrigues’ family members, relatives well-wishers, wife of Edi Netto & Konkani writers attended the ceremony.
