‘We’re Waiting for Gadkari to Inaugurate 2 Flyovers on Feb 28’ – M B Sadashiv

Mangaluru: “Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that the Pumpwell and Thokkuttu flyovers will be inaugurated on February 28, and the Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari will arrive in Mangaluru to inaugurate the same. Only 11 days are left for the inauguration and we are waiting for Nitin Gadkari to do the inauguration”, said the former district president of JD(S) M B Sadashiv in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on February 16.

Addressing the mediapersons Sadashiv said, “In the budget, our chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has given priority to agriculture, Education and health. But the MLA of Mangaluru South Constituency says that it was an Ice Candy budget. The opposition is indulged only in criticizing the state government and not bothered to understand the problems of the farmers. If the opposition MLAs have written to the speaker they should also have done the follow-up. For the first time in the history of the state, such an amount has been sanctioned to waive the farmers’ loan.”

Sadashiv further said, “In the city due to the increase in vehicle population people face a lot of problems to move around in the city. Our aim is to start the metro and the chief minister has given the green signal. Dakshina Kannada is popular in the food industry, banking and education, but only the field of education has been successful. To develop education further, the government has taken measures to create a Manipal – Konaje education corridor. Measures have also been taken to develop tourism in Dakshina Kannada as the beaches of Mangaluru are very famous. The Panambur beach will be developed and more jobs will be created for the youth through tourism.”

Former minister Amarnath Shetty, JD(S) spokesperson Sushil Noronha, District President of JD(S) Mohammed Kunhi, Vasanth Poojary, District President of Youth JD(S) Akshith Suvarna and others were also present.
