Woman Dies, Over 20 Injured in KSRTC Bus Accident Near Sullia

Sullia: A fatal accident involving two Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses occurred on Wednesday near Aranthodu along the Mani-Mysore National Highway, resulting in one death and injuries to more than 20 passengers.

The collision took place at a curve in the vicinity of Aranthodu in Sullia Taluk. One bus was en route from Mangalore to Madikeri, while the other was traveling from Madikeri.

Bharati (50), a resident of Kushalnagar, succumbed to severe injuries at the scene. She was returning to Madikeri after seeking medical treatment in Mangalore.

Two passengers sustained serious injuries, and an additional 17 passengers suffered minor injuries. All injured individuals have been admitted to various hospitals for medical treatment.

The Sullia Circle Inspector and Sub-Inspector inspected the accident site. A case has been registered at the Sullia Police Station, and further legal proceedings are underway. Authorities have removed the involved vehicles to facilitate the resumption of normal traffic flow.
