Yi Mangaluru Annual Day 2025: Celebrating Impact, Recognising Excellence and Introducing the New Leadership
Mangaluru: The Young Indians (Yi) Mangaluru Chapter marked its Annual Day recently, in Mangaluru. The gathering brought together members, partners and supporters for an evening that reflected on the chapter’s work, its growing visibility in the region and the strong collaborative spirit that drives Yi’s activities throughout the year.

Young Indians, founded in 2002 under the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is a national platform that enables young leaders to contribute to economic and social development. With more than 7,000 direct members and a large network of college-based YUVA chapters, Yi continues to inspire youth-led change across India.
Yi Mangaluru was established in 2020 with 33 founding members. Today the chapter has grown to more than 70 active members. Over the years it has built a strong foundation through partnerships, community projects and meaningful engagement with students and local organisations.
The programme began with a welcome note by CA Salome Lobo Pereira, Chair of Yi Mangaluru for 2025. The keynote address during the Public Session for the evening was delivered by Dr. Chandrashekar Sorake who spoke about the future of India’s medicare economy and the opportunities ahead for young professionals. This was followed by the Vote of Thanks by Sharan A Shetty, Chapter Co-Chair for 2025.
During the business session, members received an overview of more than 100 initiatives completed during the year. Highlights included the Railway Accessibility Project supported by CodeCraft Technologies in partnership with Anuprayas, the adoption and capacity building of a Self-Help Group under the livelihood vertical, and Thatasth 2025 which continued to showcase Mangaluru as a vibrant cultural and experiential destination. The chapter recognised exceptional contributors through the Excellence Awards and also released the Yi Mangaluru Annual Report 2025. The report was unveiled by Natraj Hegde, Chairman of CII Mangaluru, along with Chapter Chair CA Salome Lobo Pereira. Leadership for the upcoming year was announced by Regional Mentor SRTKKA for Entrepreneurship, Shreepad K, and Regional Mentor SRTKKA for Climate Change, M. Athmika Amin. Mr Sharan A Shetty, who serves as Regional Director at Teramor Estates Pvt Ltd, will take charge as Chapter Chair for 2026 & Mr Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Managing Partner at M
The event concluded in the presence of CII officials, former Yi Chairs, Executive Committee members and representatives from KCCI, CREDAI, Evolve and other partner organisations. The evening brought the year to a close on a positive and encouraging note.
